Meeting an apostate
Posted by Tony on 6th July 2008 at 13:30:32
You never know where the next good thing might come from, but recently an apostate and I were the earliest arrivals at an agenda-free meeting and I enjoyed the privilege of sharing his relatively recent discovery of the truth behind Dawkins' God Delusion.

I'm certainly not going to say anything to identify him as he is liable to a death sentence when he returns home, as he must. The great impression our chat left with me was how happy he clearly was to have discovered the deeper truth of natural history.

And one more conversion in the relatively safe isolation of secular Australia hardly balances the millions being born and indoctrinated every year before they acquire the capacity for critical thinking, nor does it redress the failure of "free thinkers" everywhere to deal effectively with the challenges of delivering charity, (re)education and taking personal responsibility for one's own moral decisions.
