A suddenly its summer last day of October had me finally having enough reasons to escape my computers' clutches for enough hours to regain some temporary illusion of clarity.

Ever since some local wit decided Ventura could lead somewhere other than Santa Barbara, I've been determined to tackle Mordialloc to Altona in a day with sufficient sunshine. (At Sunshine railway station with sunshine pouring in and Let The Sunshine In Shuffled into my earbuds, that test clearly passed.) The prospect was made more appealing by the realisation that Apple's underexposed first local stores were very convenient to the 903 stops at Chaddy and Shopping Town (Doncaster). Then the release of the Mac Mini Server and the (not in my wildest dreams) use of the new 27 inch iMac's mini Display Port to make its screen work as an external monitor added some urgency to checking out those stores. Even with the rollover following a slightly late finish to a 100,000 run pushing me to my last imaginable departure time and shorter stops at Northland and the more recently familiar Sunshine duopoly, there was still an hour and a sea breeze to enjoy a stroll to the end of Altona pier for even more clarity before conceding to the call of homeward bound rails.

This post should be mostly about that clarity (with respect to my currently central hypothesis about creative synergy between (deterministic) chaos and emergent order) but sitting at a computer keyboard still sends that clarity fleeing. One clue is Obama's Audacity (to) Hope that order is the seductive bonus of civilisation. While imposed order too easily derails the pursuit of happiness, the thresholds demand a commitment to observation and largely atheoretic analysis which nobody has been seriously contemplating. What might be seen by looking at the limitless production of unprecedented local configurations within and around the active cores developing from viable LOTE seeds alongside the play of youngsters of many species?
The last of the sunshine.
