If you could dig deep enough you might find that the main difference is the visibility of various geniuses' madnesses.

Of course you may not need to be a genius to become even a self-made billionaire, even if it does increase the odds.

Certainly madness and genius are both symptoms of minds a bit less prepared to accept things how they are and more focused on alternative visions.

Stretching the topic a bit, we might call into question the populist one strike and you're out adversary "law and order" approach to the behaviour of creative eccentrics.

If I could make one change to the system of the world this mid-winter it might be to institute "nett good" as an across the board defence, including in trials by media and "public opinion".

Of course we might get the same gain by just moving the line in the sand from "hurt" to "harm", but even that seems beyond our fragile nanny-statists.
